Step 3 - Field Research (Professor Suk)

To jumpstart my research on insect consumption and design modeling, I visited and interviewed Professor Suk. As the leader of the South Korea Agricultural Lab, Professor Suk gave me invaluable insight into the technology that the lab uses to raise mealworms. Since insects are not yet industrialized, such technology is exceedingly rare, and his showcase of these methods inspired me even further to pursue this line of research.

I also was able to visit the professor’s public showcase at South Korea’s annual insect, where he detailed the life cycles of various insects and explained the benefits of insect consumption in comparison with other food sources.
